Ziplite™
With Ziplite, Samsonite introduced
its first polypropylene
suitcase with a zipper closure,
thus combining both the benefits
of hardside and softside
luggage. Sales took off quickly
and the market for hardside
suitcases with zippers was
born.
Silhouette Blue
The introduction of wheels to
the Silhouette frame transformed
the luggage world for
ever. The case was a true revolution
in travel comfort and
convenience, targetting a new
generation of frequent flyers.
Oyster™
Oyster was the first suitcase
with a three-point locking
system, providing ultimate
strength and security. The case
was an immediate triumph,
with 140.000 bought in its first
year, it was the fastest-selling
case of all time.
Eco Collection
Worldwide, Samsonite launches 23 pro-
duct lines that are made from recycled
polypropylene or Recyclex™, a fabric
made from 100% post-consumer recycled
PET plastic bottles.
S’Cure ECO Green Grey edition
The “Green Grey” edition of S’Cure ECO is
the first suitcase on the planet repurposing
post-consumer recycled plastic waste. The
suitcase’s shells are made using recycled
polypropylene from post-consumer household
waste, turning a material too valuable
to be thrown away into a high-quality functional
product.
